Founded in 2025 by multi-Grammy–nominated violinist Philippe Quint, the Magellan Chamber Orchestra (MCO) is dedicated to bold collaborations and imaginative programming. The orchestra’s inaugural performance will take place on October 29, 2025 at the Chicago History Museum, in collaboration with members of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, in a concert celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

MCO will return in December with a holiday special featuring an all-Baroque program of Bach & Vivaldi, and will make its New York City debut on February 12, 2026 at the Aspect Chamber Music Series with an adventurous pairing of Vivaldi & Piazzolla.

What sets the Magellan Chamber Orchestra apart is its vision: to bring together world-class artists, young musicians, and diverse communities in performances that break barriers between tradition and innovation. With a spirit of discovery, MCO creates concerts that are not only musically excellent but also immersive, relevant, and deeply engaging. This is an orchestra built for the future, one that celebrates heritage while reimagining what a chamber orchestra can be.
